Our fishing season is in full swing, an abundance of aggressive chrome Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) are hitting our docks on a regular basis, the bait of choice are blue flasher blue/silver spoon combination down one side, and a green flasher with a green/silver spoon down the other side. The most productive locations are inside Barkley sound, the Chinook (Kings) are following the Herring. As the season progresses the offshore banks will become more productive and the baits will switch to larger single spoons, no flashers, and large 7" Tomic plugs, the 700 pattern is my favorite.
The Halibut fishing is average for this time of year, and only getting stronger daily, look for the size to consistently increase throughout the season into early September as the Hali's fatten up getting ready for their journey back into the deep to spawn again for the next generation of Halibut for us to fish.
Its a touch early for the Coho (Silvers) fishing to be really hot, but again the Coho fishing will be getting better and better with each passing week.
